    Why play here

    Three nines, three different rounds

Palmilla is a 27-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature facility built as three distinct nines — Mountain, Arroyo and Ocean. They are paired into three official 18-hole combinations, and every one of them plays to par 72, so the round you get depends on which pairing is in play the day you arrive.

The character changes with the pairing. Mountain is the longest and climbs into the foothills. Arroyo threads the washes and holds both the shortest par 3 and the longest par 5 on the property. Ocean runs toward the Sea of Cortez.

    01

    The longest pairing

Mountain / Ocean measures 7,036 yards from the black tees.

    02

    A genuinely long par 3

Arroyo’s eighth plays 243 yards from the tips — unusual, and confirmed against three sources.

    03

    Access varies by routing

Since 1 January 2025 the Mountain and Arroyo nines are reserved for club members and One&Only Palmilla guests.

    Good to know

    Frequently asked questions

Facts below come from the course operator unless a note says otherwise.

Is Palmilla open to the public?

Partly. Palmilla states that the Mountain and Arroyo nines are exclusive to golf club members and guests of One&Only Palmilla. The Ocean nine is the routing generally offered through the public booking engine.

What does a round play to?

Every official combination plays to par 72. Mountain / Ocean is the longest at 7,036 yards from the black tees, then Arroyo / Mountain at 6,939 and Ocean / Arroyo at 6,771.

How are the 27 holes played?

Twenty-seven physical holes in three nines — Mountain, Arroyo and Ocean — paired into three official 18-hole combinations. The pairing in play varies, so confirm it for your date.

    Who designed the course?

Jack Nicklaus Signature Design. The facility opened in 1992 and was extended to 27 holes in 1997.

    Are green fees published?

No. Palmilla uses a dynamic booking engine, so rates should be checked for your exact date rather than quoted from an older third-party source.

What is included, and what is the cancellation policy?

Palmilla does not publish these on its public pages. Confirm inclusions, pace of play and cancellation terms with the pro shop when you book.

How accurate is the 3D explorer?

A close reference, not a survey. The routing, the order of the holes and the shape of each nine follow public mapping and the published scorecard, so it gives a genuine sense of how the course sits on the land. Finer details — bunker shapes, exact distances, daily pin positions — can differ on the ground. Use it to picture the round, not to measure it.

    Sources and data notes

Course facts, tee ratings and access policy: Palmilla Golf Club’s official pages. Hole-by-hole yardages and pars were cross-checked against two independent course databases, and all three combination totals reconcile with the official figures.
