Casamarte is a seafood restaurant and oyster bar on the malecón in La Paz, Baja California Sur, set in an old house at 16 de Septiembre No. 7, on the corner of the waterfront Paseo Álvaro Obregón. Its full name is Casamarte Oyster Bar & Grill, and the restaurant calls itself La Casa del Mar, the house of the sea. The kitchen is led by chef Héctor Palacios, who was born and raised in La Paz, and the menu is built on oysters from farms in Baja California Sur waters, local clams and fish from responsible fisheries. It opens every day from 8:00 AM to 11:30 PM, so the same tables serve breakfast, a long seafood lunch and dinner, with terrace seating that faces the malecón and the bay. Oysters are 25 pesos a piece, tacos run from 80 to 150 pesos, and most plates from the sea and the grill fall between 190 and 770 pesos.
The restaurant describes its chef as a paceño who knows the sea is served fresh and without disguise, who chooses sustainable products and who works to support fishing communities across Baja California Sur and Baja California. Food & Pleasure, which profiled Casamarte in September 2026, calls him an ambassador for the Pesca con Futuro movement and names two of his suppliers: kampachi from the Omega Azul farms in the Sea of Cortez, and red snapper and oysters from Santomar. Sunset magazine, which ran his recipes in June 2024, described how he dry-ages local kampachi, and the current menu lists an aged fish sashimi over smoky morita salsa. The logo reads amor al mar, amor al arte, love of the sea and love of art. At the oyster bar the shells are opened to order and served with lime, with morita, aguachile or fermented habanero salsa as extras.
