    Massages at The Sand Bar

    Massages at The Sand Bar is the open-air massage deck on the top floor of The Sand Bar, the beach restaurant and bar on Calle Cormoranes, on Médano Beach in Cabo San Lucas. Rows of massage tables sit under awnings a short distance from the water, facing the bay, the boats and the rocks of Land's End. There are no treatment rooms: every massage happens outdoors, with the breeze, the waves and the music from the bar below in the background, and the business is clear that there is no expectation of privacy on the deck.

    The menu is short. The core is a full-body massage of 60 or 90 minutes, and you set the pressure by asking your therapist for more or less, from relaxing to deep tissue; the 60-minute massage costs 40 USD. The 50-minute foot massage, which the business calls a Sand Bar tradition, is a reflexology session: the therapist cleans and exfoliates your feet, then works on your calves, ankles, feet and toes, and it comes with a large margarita or two beers, or iced tea, soda or water. Four-hand massages, with two therapists working in mirror image on both sides of your body, are also on the menu. The business offers prenatal massages too and says most of its therapists are prenatal certified.

    After check-in you get a token for your service and walk up to the deck, where your time starts. Many guests keep their swimsuit on; others change in one of four changing rooms and lie under a large beach towel, and the therapists keep guests covered. There are no showers, earplugs are free, and blankets come out after 5 p.m. in winter. Couples and groups book separate slots at the same time, and tables side by side are not guaranteed. Tips are not included and are paid in cash, directly to the therapist.

    Massages run daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Online bookings start the next day and are paid in full in advance; for the same day, send a WhatsApp message or reserve in person with a 10 USD cash deposit per massage. Walk-ins are welcome too: the business says it gets them all the time.

    • Arrive and check in 15 minutes early. Your time starts when you walk up to the deck, and a late arrival may get a shorter massage if others are booked after you.
    • All massages are on an open-air deck, with no private rooms and no showers; adjoining tables for couples or groups are not guaranteed.
    • There is no minimum age, but children and young teens must be accompanied by an adult.
    • Tips are not included; if you tip, give cash directly to your therapist (tips cannot be charged to a card).
    • Sexual innuendo of any kind ends the massage immediately, with no refund.
    • Forfeited deposits and no-show payments go to The Sand Bar's dog rescue fund.
