Fried Fish Taco

Cocina de Campo by Agricole is the dining heart of Agricole Farms, a 37-acre working farm in El Pescadero on the Pacific side of Baja California Sur. Set inside a garden of citrus trees, raised beds, and bright sunflowers, the open-air restaurant turns whatever is harvested that morning into a relaxed, ingredient-driven menu that leans contemporary Mexican with Californian touches. Founded by Elizabeth Ibarra Vivanco, who began with a single roadside produce stand before scaling up to a full farm, shop, and restaurant, Cocina de Campo has become a defining anchor of the Todos Santos and Pescadero farm-to-table movement.
What to order. The menu changes with the harvest, but a few favorites have become signatures. The tacos are a must, particularly the batter-dipped fried fish taco and the shaved ribeye taco, both served on house tortillas. The wood-oven pizzas draw a loyal local following, and the garden salads, built from chard, carrots, tomatoes, and whatever else came in from the field that day, make the case for eating like a farmer. The kitchen also turns out a notably bright fresh-catch ceviche with farm cucumber, red onion, cilantro, and avocado. For dessert, the soft vanilla cake with fresh strawberries and cream is the dish reviewers keep coming back to.
The setting. Tables sit outside under shade structures inside the working garden, with views across rows of vegetables and flowering plants. The cocktail program is strong and creative, leaning on house-grown herbs and seasonal fruit, and there is an on-site farm shop where guests can pick up produce, preserves, and local goods on their way out. It feels less like a restaurant and more like a community hub built around the field.
Best for. Long, unhurried lunches with friends, brunch after the beach, plant-forward dinners, foodies tracking Baja's farm scene, and travelers driving the Cabo to Todos Santos corridor who want a memorable mid-route stop. Groups are easy to accommodate, kids are welcome, and the garden setting makes it a natural for special occasions that do not need a tablecloth to feel meaningful.
Getting there. Agricole Farms sits on the Carretera Transpeninsular (Highway 19) at roughly KM 62 in El Pescadero, about 50 minutes north of Cabo San Lucas and 10 minutes south of Todos Santos. Parking is on-site, signage is clear from the highway, and the drive itself, hugging the Pacific through fields and surf breaks, is half the experience.
Recognition. Cocina de Campo by Agricole holds a MICHELIN Bib Gourmand distinction in the MICHELIN Guide Mexico (2025), recognizing it as one of Baja California Sur's best value-for-quality kitchens. It is consistently ranked among the top restaurants in El Pescadero by major guides and food publications.
