Sole Sandwich

Mango Deck is a beach restaurant and bar on Médano Beach in Cabo San Lucas, open every day from 8 AM to 10 PM for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with tables under its roof and out on the sand. It has been on the beach since 1998, and from the sand the view runs across the bay to Land's End, the Arch and Lover's Beach. The kitchen cooks Mexican and international food, from breakfast plates to a weekend buffet, and the bar pours signature cocktails, margaritas and buckets of beer. Mango Deck is also known for its party scene: live hosts, music, contests and rounds of shots are part of the day, and the restaurant's own motto is “Come for the view. Stay for the party.” Mornings are the calm part of the day; in the afternoon the music gets louder and the beach party builds.
Ricardo Araoz Gamiño opened Mango Deck in 1998 with a group of friends, starting with a few tables under the roof, a few more on the sand and no more than twenty lounge chairs, as the owners told Mexico News Daily in 2025. His son, Garrit Araoz Wilkes, now runs it as general manager. The first menu was burgers, chicken fingers, wings and sandwiches; today the owners describe the cooking as regional flavors with a homestyle touch. Spring Break groups began arriving around 2003, and the hosts and contests grew from there. In 2014 Hurricane Odile destroyed half the restaurant and the whole deck; the staff worked in shifts to clean up and had it ready to reopen within ten days. The owners also run an activities team that started with waverunner rentals, and a boutique on the beach sells Mango Deck shirts, hats and souvenirs.
On Médano Beach since 1998 — still run by the founding family, with the owner's son as general manager.
A view of the Arch — tables on the sand and under the roof look across the bay toward Land's End, the Arch and Lover's Beach.
A party with a kitchen — hosts, contests, live music and shots set the tone, but the kitchen serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and a weekend buffet.
Set up for groups — the team plans group dining, bachelor and bachelorette days and private celebrations, and the Solarium rooftop is used for private events.
Sole Sandwich — A fish sandwich made with sole, one of the four plates the owners name as the signatures of the Mango Deck kitchen.
Mango Deck Roll — The roll that carries the restaurant's name and one of its four house signatures. Ask your server how it is prepared.
Molcajete — A Mexican favorite served in the volcanic-stone bowl it is named for, and one of the four signature plates of the house.
Mango Cowboy Burger — The house burger, from a kitchen that opened in 1998 with burgers, wings and sandwiches and still counts it as a signature.
