Transcabo (Operadora de Los Cabos) sells SJD airport shuttle seats from $20 per person and private vehicles for 5 to 17 passengers from $115 one way, quoted online by hotel for eight zones from San José del Cabo to La Paz. Founded in 1997, it calls itself the largest airport and local transportation company in the Los Cabos area.
Its office is on Av. La Floresta in Las Veredas, 1 km from the airport. The company describes a fleet of more than 50 units, from Escalades and Suburbans to vans, Sprinters and full-size coaches, with fully licensed bilingual drivers, and states that it provided the ground transportation for the G-20 summit held in Los Cabos. Its booking engine quotes by destination: you choose your hotel or residential area from 185 listed options and see every vehicle with its one-way and round-trip fare before you enter any personal data. Round trips cost exactly twice the one-way fare.
Its terms spell out the rules: cancellation is free up to 24 hours before the service, charged at 50 percent between 24 and 12 hours and in full inside 12 hours or for no-shows; each passenger may bring two bags of up to 60 pounds; pets, wheelchairs, surfboards, golf bags and large coolers travel only in private vehicles; and the return pickup must be confirmed 48 hours before the departure flight. The website advertises private service from $84 and shuttle seats from $16, but the lowest fares the booking engine quoted on 22 September 2026 were $115 and $20.
Shared and private, quoted by hotel — a shuttle seat to Cabo San Lucas is $26 and a private Suburban $140; the booking engine lists 185 hotels and residential areas in eight zones.
An accessible unit — the company says its special units have a wheelchair lift ramp and are booked in private mode; the booking engine lists the Special Van for five at the same fare as the regular van, so confirm the ramp when you book. Its terms warn that an electric wheelchair does not fit in a regular van.
Fixed rules in writing — 24-hour free cancellation, two 60-pound bags per person, children under four free on the shuttle without a car seat, baby seats at $5 per leg, a 30-minute ($40) or 1-hour ($80) grocery stop booked 72 hours ahead, and a bottle of water per passenger on arrivals.
Operating since 1997 — founded in December 1997 in San José del Cabo as a 100 percent Mexican company, with a call centre, a separate email for activity bookings and a toll-free number for the United States and Canada.
Solo travelers and couples on a budget — shuttle seats from $20 to San José and $26 to Cabo San Lucas; the shuttle makes several hotel stops, so yours may be the first or the last.
Families and groups — a Suburban for 6 at $140 to Cabo San Lucas, a van for 10 at $135 or a Sprinter for 17 at $190; round trips cost twice the one-way fare.
Travelers with reduced mobility — the company tells travelers with special needs to pick its special unit when booking; the Special Van costs the same as the regular van, and it is worth confirming the lift ramp before you pay.
Todos Santos, the East Cape and La Paz — private fares from $250 (East Cape), $290 (Todos Santos) and $350 (La Paz) one way; no shuttle to those destinations.
Hours: The company does not publish office or call-centre hours; the website takes bookings online. Phone +52 624 163 7373 or toll-free 1-833-827-3723 from the US and Canada.
Book: On its website: choose your hotel, then the vehicle and dates; payment by PayPal or card. Confirm the return pickup at least 48 hours before your departure flight.
Meeting point at SJD: Not published by the company; your booking voucher gives the pickup details, and pre-booked drivers wait outside the terminal building, not in the sales hall.
Cancellation: Free up to 24 hours before the service; 50 percent charge between 24 and 12 hours; full charge under 12 hours or for a no-show.

Your meeting point — Not published by the company; the booking voucher gives the pickup details.
Where drivers wait at SJD — International flights arrive at Terminal 2, domestic flights at Terminal 1. At Terminal 2, after customs you cross the sales hall and exit through the sliding doors (the "Group Arrival Exit" is on the right after baggage claim) into an outdoor courtyard with a bar and a row of large numbered umbrellas/canopies; companies that use one name the umbrella or canopy in your confirmation; others wait at the exit with a sign bearing your name or the company name, so check what yours says. At Terminal 1 there is no customs; drivers or representatives wait in the public arrivals zone or at a pillar/gate in the parking lot named in the voucher. Official taxi kiosks ("Taxis / Transportación Terrestre") are outside the terminal building.
The timeshare hall — After customs at Terminal 2 you walk through a hall of desks staffed by timeshare promoters in polo shirts and badges who look like airport staff or transportation booths. They offer "free" rides, tours or maps in exchange for a resort presentation. Do not stop, answer questions or hand over paperwork: say "No, gracias" and keep walking through the final sliding doors. Pre-booked drivers are not allowed in that hall; find them outside, at the umbrella, canopy or exit point stated in your confirmation.
Uber at SJD — Uber's own SJD pages say pickup exists ("Uber helps make it easy to get from SJD Airport to your final destination") and tell riders to open the app for "directions to meet your driver outside", without naming a spot. Local reports say otherwise: the airport is a federal zone where only licensed airport taxis may load passengers, the National Guard enforces it, and Uber riders end up walking 10–15 minutes to the OXXO by the highway. Drop-off at departures is allowed by Uber and, per The Cabo Sun, works.
“No extra charge on delayed flights”— Transcabo, home page
Cancellation — Free up to 24 hours before the service; 50 percent between 24 and 12 hours; 100 percent under 12 hours or no-show.
Changes — Free with 24 hours' notice through the call centre; return pickup confirmed at least 48 hours before the departure flight.
Flight tracking — Yes — the company says it monitors arriving flights.
Child seats — Baby seat $5 per leg, very limited availability; shuttle: ages 0–3 free without a car seat (half fare with one), 4–8 half fare.
Grocery stop — Private vehicles only: 30 min for $40 or 1 h for $80 in the booking engine, at stores on the route; book 72 h ahead; the terms quote $60 per hour.
Pets — Pets only in private vehicles.
Oversize luggage — Two 60-pound bags per person plus carry-on; surfboards, golf bags, fishing gear, large coolers, bicycle boxes and wheelchairs only in private vehicles; more than six checked bags needs a private van.
Payment — PayPal or card online.
$26 per person one way on the shared shuttle ($52 round trip) or $140 one way for a private Suburban with up to six passengers ($280 round trip), as quoted by the company's booking engine on 22 September 2026; a van for ten is $135, an Escalade for five $190 and a Sprinter for seventeen $190. Round trips are exactly twice the one-way fare, and prices do not change with the date.
At Terminal 2, where international flights land, pre-booked drivers wait outside the building, not in the sales hall after customs. Transcabo does not publish its exact meeting spot, so follow the pickup details on the voucher it issues at booking, and keep walking past the sales desks and taxi kiosks until you are outside.
Uber drop-off at departures works, but pickup is contested: Uber's own pages say it exists, while local reports say only licensed airport taxis may load passengers at SJD and riders end up walking 10 to 15 minutes to the OXXO by the highway. Transcabo's own airport guide says Uber pickup is not available at SJD. With a pre-booked Transcabo shuttle or private transfer, the pickup details come on your voucher.
No extra charge applies to delayed flights, and the return pickup must be confirmed at least 48 hours before your departure flight. The company says it tracks arrivals, and it describes the 48-hour confirmation of the hotel-to-airport pickup as a regulatory requirement. If you extend your stay, call at least 48 hours before the departure pickup to change it.
Yes: cancellation is free up to 24 hours before the service, charged at 50 percent between 24 and 12 hours, and charged in full inside 12 hours or for a no-show, per the company's terms and conditions. Changes made with 24 hours' notice are also free, and they go through the call centre.
Yes, at $5 per leg, and the company warns that seats are very limited, so request one when you book or bring your own. On the shared shuttle, children three and under ride free without a car seat, a child using a car seat pays half fare, ages four to eight pay half fare and nine and older pay the adult fare.
Two bags of up to 60 pounds per person plus carry-on. Pets, wheelchairs, surfboards, golf bags, fishing gear and large coolers are accepted only in private vehicles, not on the shared shuttle, and a family with more than six checked bags needs a private van. An electric wheelchair does not fit in a regular van: book the Special Van, the company's special unit, and confirm the lift ramp.
Yes, in private vehicles only: one way from $250 to the East Cape, $290 to Todos Santos and $350 to La Paz for a van, or $260, $300 and $380 in a Suburban, with round trips at twice the fare. The shared shuttle does not serve those destinations. The booking engine's East Cape list runs from Costa Palmas to Los Barriles and does not include Cabo Pulmo.
Yes, in a private vehicle: the booking engine offers a 30-minute stop for $40 or a 1-hour stop for $80 at stores on the route, and the terms ask you to book it at least 72 hours before arrival. The terms also quote $60 per hour, so confirm the price when you book. The stop is not available on the shared shuttle, which serves several hotels.
Six options in the booking engine: Suburban (6), Escalade (5), van (10), Special Van (5), Mercedes Sprinter (17) and the shared shuttle (10 seats, sold per person). The company also runs full-size coaches for groups, which are not bookable in the online engine, and says its fleet exceeds 50 units. It says its special units have a wheelchair lift ramp, so confirm the ramp when you book the Special Van.
