Mexican folk art in San José del Cabo.
A painted bowl, a sculptural vessel, a figure covered in tiny beads: the pleasure here starts with materials and detail. The gallery’s published collection brings traditional Mexican arts into conversation with contemporary pottery, paintings and silver jewelry.
Look at a piece from more than one angle. Notice the pattern, the surface and the work around an edge. Then ask who made it and where it comes from. The place a work was created may be far from the gallery where you discover it.

LOOK BEYOND THE SURFACE
Give the maker a place in the story.
An object becomes more meaningful when you know the hands, materials and place behind it. These four questions are a useful starting point for a conversation in the gallery.
THE MAKER
Who created it?
Ask for the artist’s or artisan’s name, and whether the work is signed or accompanied by written information.
THE PLACE
Where was it made?
Ask about the workshop, town or community. Buying a piece in Los Cabos does not mean it was made in Baja California Sur.
THE MATERIAL
What am I looking at?
For ceramics, ask about the clay, decoration and finish. For jewelry, ask about the metal and any stones or other materials.
THE EVERYDAY
How should I care for it?
Find out how to clean and display the piece. If a bowl or vessel is intended for use, ask the gallery about that specific object.

A few useful answers.
Where is La Sacristía?
At Miguel Hidalgo 9, Centro, in San José del Cabo’s Gallery District, Baja California Sur. It is in San José del Cabo, rather than Cabo San Lucas. Use the map or directions link for this gallery’s address.
What kind of art will I find?
The gallery’s association profile highlights traditional Mexican art, pottery, ceramics and silver jewelry. Its published photographs also show paintings, sculptural objects and colorful bead-covered figures. Ask the gallery about the current display and individual makers.
Can I visit outside the Thursday Art Walk?
Contact the gallery to confirm its regular opening hours. The Art Walk’s usual Thursday 5–9 pm schedule is the event schedule and does not establish the gallery’s hours on other days.
Are all the pieces made in Los Cabos?
The gallery presents Mexican art and craftsmanship. A work’s maker and place of origin may be elsewhere in Mexico. Ask about the artist, workshop and region for the piece you are considering.
Are the pieces in these photos available to buy?
These are photographs from the gallery’s published archive. They show the range and character of the space, rather than live stock or prices. Contact the gallery about a particular work and its current availability.
Who can help with a purchase or packing?
Speak directly with the gallery about the piece, its care, packing and any delivery options it offers. Confirm costs and terms with the gallery before arranging transport.
