Getting around Los Cabos
Every trip starts the same way: you land at SJD in San José del Cabo, and the ride you booked — or did not book — decides the next hour.
The airport sits roughly 20–30 minutes from San José del Cabo itself and 45–60 minutes from Cabo San Lucas, with the Tourist Corridor hotels in between. That gap is the whole reason this page exists: the transfer that makes sense for a villa in Pedregal is the wrong call for a resort in Palmilla, and neither is what you want if you are heading out to the East Cape.
The arrivals hall at SJD has a well-known crowd of timeshare sellers dressed to look like transport staff. Airport taxis do exist, but they generally cost more than a transfer booked ahead and rates are not always posted: agree the price before you get in.
A shared shuttle is cheaper and stops at several hotels before yours; a private transfer goes straight there and usually makes sense from three people up.
