Practical questions
Do I need to book transport in advance?
For the airport, yes. San José del Cabo airport has a well-known crowd of timeshare sellers posing as transport staff in the arrivals hall; arriving with a booking already made is the simplest way to walk past all of it.
How long is the drive from the airport?
Roughly 20–30 minutes to San José del Cabo, and around 45–60 minutes to Cabo San Lucas depending on traffic and where in town you are staying. The Tourist Corridor falls between the two.
Private transfer or shared shuttle?
A shared shuttle is cheaper but stops at several hotels before yours. A private transfer goes straight there and usually makes sense from three people up. Most companies here offer both.
Is it the same to take a taxi at the airport?
Airport taxis are available but generally cost more than a transfer booked ahead, and rates are not always posted. Agreeing the price before getting in is essential.
